Professor Patrick Chefu Fusi is of Bafut extraction and is 76 years
old. He holds a Teacher Grade III, Teacher Grade II, Teacher Grade I,
B.Sc. Degree, Doctorate Degree. Professor
Fusi has put in 57 years in the study and practice of education having
taught all classes in Nursery, Primary School (where he was Headmaster
in some of the schools)
Secondary schools, Teacher Training College and University. He spent 16
of the 54 years studying and practising education in the U.S.A. He
holds 5 International Education Licence. Fusi
has certificate of outstanding Student Leadership & service,
University
of Minnesota, Outstanding Citizen's Award, Outstanding leadership as
cameroon Students Advisor U.S.A. He ably represented his University at
the National Assocition
of American Higher Educators and at the National Model United Nations in
New York City.
He has opened the first lay private University in Cameroon. Fusi played
football in the first team of all the schools
he attended including universities.
SOME ACHEIVEMENTS IN CAMEROON. 1953 1st Prize of the Mankon Teachers Writing Competition. 1956 1st Prize, Student Teaching Aids. 1960 2nd place in Cameroon in the Long Jump. 1965 Obtained the then-highest profes-sional teachers’ certificate in Cameroon. 1990 Opened the first lay private uni-versity in the country.
Fusi is chairman of the Education Commission, Ngomgham Parish in the Bamenda Archdiocese, Cameroon and he is working hard to give education a new face lift. He is creative, tenacious, innovative, in excellent health at 76 and his greatest asset is in turning NOTHINGNESS into SOMETHINGNESS. Patrick’s most favourite hobbies include taking care of stranded people, orphans, widows, widowers, the sick and particularly the mentally sick, basket weaving, carving, gardening and sports.
